Opening of COVID Care Centres will reduce people’s difficulties: Charak

JAMMU, May 16: Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman, Dogra Sahayata Kendra and President Dogra Sadar Sabha, Jammu held online meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Dogra Sahayata Kendra, Jammu.
He said that opening of COVID Care Centers at several locations in Jammu by the UT Administration and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board including at the Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar and Saraswati Dham, Rail Head Complex, Jammu will help in reducing the difficulty being faced by the people in managing home isolation and provide much needed succour to the patients.
He also appealed to other religious and social organizations to come forward and join the fight against the pandemic in this hour of crisis.
Charak expressed concern over the higher fatality rate in Jammu and the reports that about 20 per cent of mortalities in Jammu are taking place at home, which indicates that the patients in Jammu are not being able to avail the health facilities of the Government. He said there was a need to launch a concerted campaign through print, electronic and social media to appeal to the people of Jammu that they should not hesitate to go to the Triage Centers opened at the CD Hospital, Jammu, Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar and the District hospitals, in case of other districts, as soon as they get COVID symptoms, to avail timely medical advice. He said that this will help in timely treatment and early recovery of the patients.
Charak called upon the District Administration to put in special efforts to ensure that the social distancing norms are adhered in Sabzi Mandi during the period of relaxation in Corona Curfew every day, and also by shopkeepers and vendors. He also reiterated his demand for a complete and proper lockdown for about a week or ten days to break the COVID chain in Jammu.
