JAMMU, Aug 2: First OPD for bariatric/weight loss surgery started today in Jammu city by nationally and internationally renowned Bariatric Surgeon, Dr GS Jammu. He is the Director and Chief Bariatric Surgeon at Jammu Hospital, Jalandhar (Punjab).
Many obese patients from Jammu and surrounding areas reached today and took counseling from Dr GS Jammu. Many patients also registered for bariatric surgery on the spot.
Dr Jammu told that a lot of obese patients from Jammu and Kashmir were reaching Jammu Hospital Jalandhar for bariatric surgery, so for the help of obese patients he has started his OPD in Jammu city. He will be coming to Jammu on alternate Sundays in a month.
Dr GS Jammu informed that all those obese people, in whom diet and exercise has failed to reduce weight, are candidates of bariatric surgery. He told that bariatric surgery not only reduces weight but also helps to get rid of Type-II diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, joint pains, snoring, sleep apnea and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
