`Tribute paid to Ex-MLA Rashpal Singh’

KALAKOTE, Sept 7: The J&K National Conference Provincial president for Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta today said that NC will continue its fight for restoring J&K’s identity with a clear goal of safeguarding the aspirations of its people.
He was speaking at the tribute rally organised on the second death anniversary of former MLA Kalakote Thakur Rashpal Singh. Gupta said the party is fighting for safeguarding the interests of people of J&K at various levels and the need of the hour is to strengthen the party. He asserted that only NC can fulfil the aspirations of the people of J&K with its vision of a vibrant, progressive and united Jammu and Kashmir.
While paying tribute to senior NC leader, Gupta said that Thakur Rashpal will always be remembered for his tireless contribution in ameliorating the lot of peasants, labour fraternity, weaker sections and downtrodden people, specially Rajouri-Poonch belt. He said his selfless service will remain a guiding force and inspiration for the younger generations.
Rattan Lal said that Th Rashpal Singh will be remembered for his qualities of head and heart, saying public good was the mission of his life. He recalled his services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in general and Rajouri district in particular, saying his departure has left a big vacuum in the party which is hard to be filled.
Paying tribute president JKNC Pirpanjal, Javed Ahmed Rana described him a leader par excellence, whose qualities of head and heart inspired younger generation of the party cadre and motivated them to work for betterment of people.
Earlier, a tribute rally was taken out in Sunderbani-Kalakote constituency. On the occasion, senior NC leaders Javed Rana, DDC Kalakote Anita Thakur; DDC Dangri Rameshwar Singh, DDC Moghla Shamim Akhter, Pardeep Bali, Ashok Sharma were also present. During rally people of Kalakote and Sunderbani extended their support to Th Yashu Vardhan Singh in the coming elections. The people exuded confidence that late Th Rashpal Singh’s son will carry forward the legacy of his late father.
