SRINAGAR:Alleging that things are going bad to worse in apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, where one more person was shot dead by gunmen this morning, working president of the opposition National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah said still the government claimed things were going great.
The former Chief Minister had linked Sopore killings to the statement of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar that militants will be used to kill militants.
Reacting to today’s killing of a former militant by unidentified gunmen, Mr Adullah in a tweet said, Another shooting in Sopore! It’s going from bad to worse there & yet apologists for this govt & it’s CM will tell you things are great in J&K.
Mr Abdullah had yesterday said government must take immediate measures to stop these killings. He further said since he cannot say who was involved since he had no access to intelligence reports, but Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was also a Home Minister and should come out with a statement about the forces behind these killings.
Four people, three of them former militants and another associated with hardline Hurriyat Conference (HC), so far have been killed by unidentified gunmen with in a week in Sopore. (AGENCIES)
