JAMMU, Feb 27: One person was killed while two others were injured today when a speeding mini-bus hit a passenger auto in Nagrota area of city outskirts.
“A speeding bus bearing registration number JK02BL-3979 which was on its way from Jammu to Udhampur, this morning hit a passenger auto (registration number JK02BK-9708) near ITI College in Nagrota area when the driver of the mini-bus lost control over the vehicle”, a police official said.
He said that in the mishap, a passenger identified as Kuldeep Raj son of Bansi Lal, resident of Jagti, was killed on the spot while another passenger namely Gopal Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed of Jagti and the auto driver, Kramat Ali son of Babu Din, resident of Jagti, got injured.
“The injured are being provided treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu while the body of the deceased has been handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities in the same hospital”, the official said.
He further informed that a case FIR No 43/2018 under Section 304-A had been registered at police station Nagrota and both the vehicles involved in the mishap seized while efforts were on to nab the accused mini-bus driver, who was at large.
