One killed, three injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Oct 22: A man was killed while three persons including a lady were injured in two separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, three men were injured one of them seriously, when the bike registration number JK02AM-5616 on which they were travelling from Jammu to Akhnoor, got slipped on Jammu-Akhnoor Road near Sua No 1, late last night.
The injured identified as Vicky Kumar (27) son of Rattan Lal, Rakesh Sharma (32) son of Nek Ram and Jyoti Parkash (40) son of Kirpa Ram, all residents of Pouni (Reasi), were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Jyoti Parkash succumbed to his injuries at about 2 am today.
After conducting post mortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. A case in this connection has been registered at police station Kanachak and further investigations are underway.
A woman was seriously injured today when the scooty bearing registration No JK02BL-2707 on which she was going on with her husband, was hit by an Oil tanker bearing registration No JK02AQ-9975 in Patoli Brahamana area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Domana.
The injured woman was immediately shifted to GMCH, where her condition was stated to be critical, when the last reports came in. Domana police has registered a case in this connection and efforts are on to nab the tanker driver, who fled from the spot along with vehicle after committing crime.
