JAMMU, Nov 10: A young girl was killed while four persons were injured today in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a pedestrian identified as Monika Bhagat (20) daughter of late Sudarshan Kumar Bhagat, resident of Sidhar (RS Pura), was killed on the spot this morning when a truck bearing registration number JK02AF-6695 hit her at RS Pura near petrol pump. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites. RS Pura police has registered a case in this connection and seized the truck while efforts were on to nab the absconding truck driver.
Another pedestrian identified as Imat Ullha (70), son of Fazolullah, a resident of Leh, at present residing in Karan Nagar, Jammu, was hit and injured by a scooter at Kachi Chawani. A pedestrian namely Murli Sharma (14) son of Sohan Lal Sharma, resident of House No 14, Satwari, also got injured when an Indica car hit him at Nai Basti in Gandhi Nagar area.
A woman identified as Rubina Kousar (45) wife of Shokat Javed, resident of Rajouri, suffered injuries when a car in which she was travelling was hit by a mini-truck at Chowki Choura in Akhnoor area.
At Patta Chungi, a motorcycle hit and injured an eight-year-old boy namely Amit Singh son of Sagar Singh, resident of Patta Paloura.
All the injured were hospitalized and the concerned police had taken cognizance in all cases.
