Bihar announces ex-gratia of Rs 11 lakh

PATNA, Nov 10:
The Bihar Government today announced an ex-gratia of Rs 11 lakh to the family of BSF jawan Vikas Kumar Mishra who was martyred in shelling from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir.
Making an announcement to that effect, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said last rites of martyred BSF jawan would be performed with police honours.
Expressing his deep condolence over the death of BSF jawan, Mr Kumar said the country would also remember supreme sacrifices made by the jawan.
He also prayed for adequate strength to the family members of the martyred jawan to withstand the loss.
All people of the state stood firmly behind the jawan’s family at this hour of grief and sorrow, added Mr Kumar.  The jawan was a native of Raiyam village in the state’s Madhubani district.          (UNI)
