SRINAGAR, May 6: Police today said one person was killed while five others were injured in two different road accidents in Valley.
A police spokesman said a Sumo bearing registration number JK09-7875 driven by Khalid Ahmad Khan collided with a motorcycle bearing registration number JK09-7470 at Gonipora village of Hyhama in Kupwara district, resulting in injuries to four persons namely Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar and Shabir Ahmad Kumar who were riding the motorcycle and also Zamrooda and Khalida Bano who were boarding the Sumo.
“All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment wherefrom Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar and Shabir Ahmad Kumar were referred to SMHS, Srinagar for further treatment where Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar succumbed to his injuries. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
The spokesman said a Sumo bearing registration number JK11A-9611 turned turtle near Gulbahar Colony in Budgam district, resulting in injuries to two passengers namely Khalida Begum and Rashida Begum. “Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he added.
