JAMMU, May 14: One person was killed and another injured today in a road accident in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, two persons namely Harnam Dass (45) son of late Jagat Ram, resident of Sandwa and Nitish Singh (30) son of Bishan Singh of Sandwa, received serious injuries when a motorbike on which they were travelling was hit by a tractor at Bhagatpur.
He said both the injured persons were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Harnam Dass was declared as brought dead by the doctors while the condition of other was stated to be stable.
“Pounichak police has registered a case in this connection and started investigation while body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary room and postmortem will be conducted tomorrow,” the official added.
