JAMMU, Mar 31: One person was killed while another was critically injured in a road mishap that occurred tonight in Sidhra area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a young girl namely Rakshanda daughter of Fayaz Ahmed, resident of Shaheedi Chowk and his male friend namely Danish Showket son of Showket Ahmed, resident of Banihal, sustained critical injuries when a bike bearing registration number JK02BP-6302 on which they were going on, was hit by a speeding Alto car (registration number JK14E-7505), at Sidhra flyover.
Both the injured persons were immediately rushed to nearby ASCOMS Hospital, where the girl was declared as brought dead while the boy was undergoing treatment and his condition was stated to be critical when the last reports came in. The body of the girl was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital.
In this connection, a case was registered at police station Nagrota and the accused car driver namely Pankaj Singh son of Nadar Singh, resident of Udhampur was arrested. Both the vehicles involved in the mishap were also seized.
