RAMBAN, Aug 12: One person was killed while another was injured when the car they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge near Tulbagh area of Shabanbas in Tehsil Banihal here today.
The ill fated vehicle was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu, when the driver lost control over the wheels and the car plunged into deep gorge near Tulbagh area of Shabanbas in Tehsil Banihal, resulting into on the spot death of driver and injuries to one another.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured person identified as Faisal Mehraj, son of Mehraj Din Khan of Rainawari Srinagar to SDH Banihal, where he was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
The body of the deceased was also retrieved from the gorge. The deceased was identified as Amir Zargar, son of Abdullah Zargar of Gulab Bagh Srinagar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
