MENDHAR, Oct 4: One person was killed and another injured when a truck met with an accident in Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district on Tuesday.
Offical sources said that the accident took place near Mankote Bhatakhas Sakhi Maidan Village when the truck loaded with cement skidded off the road and fell into roadside open area.
Deseased identified as Maroof Malik (40) son of Abdul Khaliq resident of Kayni, Mankote died on the spot and the driver Mohammad Iqbal (36), son of Mohammad Hussain of Mankote was injured and shifted to Sub District Hospital Mendhar, BMO said.
He said that Hussain was under treatment and his condition was stated to be stable. A police official said that a case has been registered in Police Station Mendhar in this connection.
