SRINAGAR, Aug 9: Police today said that a person was killed and eight persons were injured in different road accidents in the Valley.
A police spokesman said that a tipper bearing registration number JK01Q/8180 hit a motorcycle driven by Tasleem Mir at Maloora in Shalteng area of city outskirts here resulting in his on spot death.
He said that a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK01V-1353 hit a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04A-3086 at Sonwar here resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Qaisar Hussain. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment, the spokesman said.
In another incident, a load carrier bearing registration number JK01W-1545 hit and injured a lady namely Haseena at Qamarwari resulting in injuries to her. “The injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment,” the police spokesman said, adding that cases have been registered in these incidents.
In Bandipora, he said, a JCB driven by Muhammad Latief Bhat met with an accident at Khan Mohalla locality of Sumbal resulting in injuries to the driver. “The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman said.
A Sumo bearing registration number JK09/3727 driven by Ghulam Muhammad Malik hit a child namely Khalid Nasir at Magam in Handwara of Kupwara district, the spokesman said. He said that the injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Handwara for treatment. And, an unknown tractor collided with a motorcycle bearing registration number HR05W-1878 near Ganipora resulting in injuries to Ashiq Hussain Shah, Liyakat Rashid and Farooq Ahmad. “All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Handwara for treatment,” the spokesman said, adding that police have registered cases in both the cases.
The police spokesman said that a Tata sumo bearing registration number JK03-8768 hit and injured a minor girl namely Insha near B-Ed College Drugmulla in Kupwara. “The injured was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman added.
