POONCH, Dec 12: One person was killed while eight others injured when a mini-passenger career vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Darra Dullian here last night.
A police spokesman said that the mishap took place at round 10 pm when the vehicle No. JK-12/ 3202 was on way to Darra Dullian from here. The driver Gurdeep Singh could not control the vehicle on the hilly track and vehicle landed into deep gorge. While one person was killed on the spot, three received serious injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Shakeel, son of Gh Hussain, resident of Dera Dullian. All the eight injured were evacuated to District hospital, Poonch. They were identified as Mohd Hussain, Mohd Hanief, Mohd Taj, Ashiq Hussain, Narinder Singh, Imran Zafar, Iqbal Singh and Manjit Singh of Darra Dullian. Driver Gurdip Singh managed to jump out of the vehicle and escaped. Police has registered a case against him.
