ASKPC reiterates settlement of Pandits at one place in Valley

JAMMU, Dec 12: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of H L Chatta discussed the problems of the displaced Pandits today.
Addressing the meeting R K Raina, senior vice president, ASKPC demanded that the remaining posts under PM’s employment package be filled up soon and the employment package be delinked from return.
Ravi Raina president Youth Wing accused both Union and State Governments of their failure in enhancing monthly cash relief to Rs 15,000 knowing fully the hardships being faced by the displaced people,
The meeting in categorical terms rejected the return formula in present form and criticized those who have shown willingness to the same without taking the ground realities into consideration.
Ms Veena Gurtoo president Women Wing demanded internally displaced status for KPs while Subash Chatta demanded reservation of three percent seats in medical and other technical colleges of the State. SL Mujoo demanded stipend for unemployed displaced youth.
Mr Chatta said the KPs are willing to return provided they will be settled at a single place in Kashmir.
