JAMMU, July 2: A youth was killed after he was hit by an Army vehicle near Basohli today while seven persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Rajouri and Mendhar area today.
A report from Kathua said that one Ashok Singh (32), son of Arwinder Singh, resident of village Sandhal was seriously injured after he was hit by an Army vehicle at Raini near Basohli today. He was rushed to Basohli hospital where he was declared as brought dead. The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after postmortem. The police seized the vehicle and detained its driver Dinesh from 3 JAT regiment.
Meanwhile, four pilgrims returning from Dera Nangali Sahib in Poonch were injured after a Scorpio vehicle ( JK02AJ/9090) fell into a gorge, near Fatehpur on Poonch- Rajouri-Jammu road today.
The injured identified as Prem Kour, wife of Raj Singh, Surjit Singh, son of Jaswant Singh, Pritpal Singh, son of Raj Singh from Gole Gujral and Swarn Deep Singh, son of Kulbir Singh of Gadigarh were removed to Rajouri hospital. The police has registered a case in this connection.
Three persons were injured when a tractor trolley (without number) rolled into a gorge on Mendhar-Dharana road this evening. The injured identified as driver Mirza Zahreed Beig, son of Gulfraz of Golad, Mohd Hafiz, son of Faqir Mohd and Mohd Yunis, son of Razak Ahmed of Golad were rushed to Mendhar hospital. Driver of the tractor was referred to GMC Jammu for serious head injuries. The police has registered a case in this connection.
