SAMBA, Apr 17: One person was killed while six others were injured in separate road accidents in Samba. According to the information received, an unknown vehicle hit a motorcycle in the border area Lala Chak on the old Samba Kathua road late on Tuesday night.
As per reports three people riding on the motorcycle were injured after the accident. With the help of local people and police, they were taken to District Hospital Samba where the doctor declared one person dead. According to police, after leaving the factory on Tuesday night, the youth were going towards their home on a bike when an unknown vehicle hit them as soon as they reached near Lala Chak bridge.
The deceased youth has been identified as 25 year old Gulshan Kumar, son of Thakur Das resident of Lehri, district Kathua while two other injured have been identified as 19 year old Rajat Kumar, son of Joginder Pal resident of Sherpur, tehsil Hiranagar and 22 year old Vijay Kumar, son of Bishan Das resident of Sher Kotha tehsil and district Kathua. . Both the injured have been referred to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for better treatment after first aid from district Hospital Samba. In this context, the police have registered a case and started tracing out the unknown vehicle. After the post-mortem of the dead body was done in District Hospital Samba, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites.
The second accident occurred on Wednesday in the Rakh Amb Taali area of Samba in which four people were injured. All the injured have been admitted to the district hospital Samba for treatment. According to the information received, there was a sudden collision between a motorcycle and a car near Rakh Amb Tali area in which all four people riding the motorcycle were injured and were brought to District Hospital Samba for treatment where they are undergoing treatment. Injured were identified as Neetu Devi, wife Subash Choudhary Age 30 yrs, Subash Choudhary son of Jeet Roy , 40 , Aditya Choudhary, 7,son of Subash Choudhary and Yashika Choudhary D/o Subash Choudhary all residents of Mawa Village, Samba Police have registered the case and started further action.
