JAMMU, Dec 3: One person was killed while six others injured when a Tata Sumo skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Kalidhar area near Tanda (Akhnoor) this afternoon.
Reports said mishap took place when the vehicle bearing registration No. JK-17/1789 was on way to Jammu from Rajouri. The driver lost control over the speeding vehicle and it landed into a gorge, killing driver Raees Anwar of Rajouri. The body was shifted to Akhnoor hospital.
The injured have been admitted to Akhnoor hospital. One of them was referred to Army Hospital, Satwari. They were identified as Abdul Ahmed of Mendhar, Sanjeev and his wife Monika from Siot, V K Gupta and Sajjad Ahmed from Nowshera. An army personnel who was also injured was shifted by Army men to Army Hospital Satwari in Jammu. He was said to be serious.
