One killed, 4 injured in two road accidents

UDHAMPUR, Aug 16: One person was killed and 4 others injured in two separate road accidents occurred in two different areas of the district.
According to the reports, a Wagon-R car bearing Registration Number JK02AG-4055 while traveling from Chowki towards Jandrore in Ramnagar, skidded off the road and fell into Jandrore nallah. At the time of mishap, two persons were travelling in the car. While one of them namely Suram Chand (48) son of Beli resident of Nallah Mallian, managed to escape out of the car, another person namely Akash Singh (28) son of Ashok Dev Singh, resident of Jandrore washed away with the car.
On getting information, a team of Ramnagar police led by SHO Pushpinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar and SDRF team reached the spot. The vehicle was recovered from the nallah around 150/200 meters from the road and dead body fished out after 12 hours. Later, the body was sent for postmortem. After completion of all the medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members.
Ramnagar Police had registered a case in this connection and started investigation.
Meanwhile, in another road accident happened at Garnai Chowk, NHW, three persons were injured. Reports said that a truck bearing Registration Number JK13D-6911 on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar when reached at Garnai Chowk, hit a tanker bearing Registration Number JK02BN-6425 and as a result both the vehicles rolled down from the road.
In the mishap, tanker driver Rajinder Kumar (50) son of Jodh Ram, resident of Ladha Power House (Udhampur) and two pedestrians namely Rama Devi (45) wife of Ganga Ram, resident of Garnai and a 2-year-old girl namely Babanya daughter of Rohit Kumar, resident of Garnai, received injuries. They were shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for medical treatment.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 190/2022 U/S 279/337 IPC was registered in concerned police station and further investigation started.
