One killed, 4 hurt as Sumo lands into gorge

RAJOURI, Oct 6: One person was killed while at least four others injured after a Tata Sumo rolled into a deep gorge in Kotranka area of  Rajouri district late this evening.
A police spokesman said that incident took place at round 8.30 pm when the ill-fated vehicle bearing registration No. JK13B/1828 was on its way to Khawas from Kotranka. Near Makku Gala in Baddal area, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into over 300 feet deep gorge.  Jawans of  nearby 30 RR unit rushed to the spot after coming to   know about the mishap. The police also later reached the spot. They removed one dead body and four injured to District Hospital Rajouri.
The deceased was later identified as Puran Singh, son of  Fateh Singh, resident of  Bain Numbal in Kotranka. His daughter Rakhi Devi was seriously injured. Three other critically injured are, Sumo driver Muzaffar Hussain from Srinagar, Mohd Kabir from Morha Khar in Budhal and blankets merchant Irshad Ahmed, hailing from Bihar.
They were being referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu.
