One killed, 36 injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Aug 29: One person was killed while 36 others were injured in road mishaps.
Police spokesman said that, a person Mohan Lal, son of Prem Chand of Dansal, Jammu, was killed, when a truck he was driving rolled down into a gorge near Bisleri nallah, in district Ramban. He said that the driver failed to negotiate the sharp curve, leading to the accident.
The body was handed over to legal heirs, after completion of the legal formalities, while a case under relevant Sections has been registered at Ramsu Police Station.
Meanwhile, eleven persons were injured when the bus, in which they were traveling in rolled down at Gurha Pattan under the jurisdiction of Kanachak police station.
The ill-fated bus bearing registration number JK02E 3974, heading towards Akhnoor from Jammu, skidded off the road and rolled down near Gurha Pattan.
The driver failed to negotiate the sharp curve, leading to accident and causing injuries to all its occupants.
On receiving information, police party rushed to the spot and with the help of locals shifted the injured to Sub-District Hospital (SDH). Later, one of them was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC), for specilised treatment.
The injured have been identified as Rekha Devi, Sandeep, Ramesh Matto, Pawan Matto, Santa Singh, Santosh Devi, Akhil, Toshi, Karan, Rashpal and Kishori Lal.
In another incident, twenty-five persons got injured when a bus, they were traveling in, fell into a gorge near Kainthgali area of district Udhampur.
The ill-fated bus bearing registration number JKO2AF 3181 was on its way from Udhampur to Mongri when it met with accident at Kainthgali due to the negligence of the driver.
The driver of over-speeding bus failed to negotiate sharp curve resulting into the vehicle plunging in the gorge and causing grievous injuries to all its occupants.
On getting information, a police party from nearby police station rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals. All the injured persons were immediately rushed to District Hospital Udhampur in police and other vehicles.
The driver of the bus identified as Surat Singh, son of Dharam Singh, fled from the spot, while a case has been registered in this context.
The injured were identified as Sohan Lal, son of Girdhari Lal of Krimchi Mansar, Ameen Mohd, son of Ghulam Mohd of Hartyam, Pooja Devi, wife of Mulkh Raj of Pathi, Krishan Singh, son of Thakur Dass of Sangaldan, Bakhial Chand, son of Krishan Chand of Ladha, Chuni Lal, son of Ramu of Ladha, Bindu Devi, wife of Bodh Raj of Jaserkote, Suman Jamwal, wife of Diwan Chand of Krimchi Mansar, Kanta Devi, wife of Joginder Singh of Krimchi Mansar, Sourav Singh, son of Joginder Singh of Krimchi Mansar, Asha, wife of Puran Chand of Poangara, Hans Raj, son of Shanker Dass of Lali Mongri, Neemu Devi, wife of Prem Nath of Jammu Kroona, Sunita Devi, wife of Mulkh Raj of Mongri, Godavari Devi, wife of Chuni Lal of Ladha, Poornima Bharti, wife of Sunita Slaria of Shiv Nagar, Udhampur, Sushma Atri, wife of Som Raj of Court Road, Udhampur, Sanskriti, daughter of Diwan Chand of Kotla, Padam Dev Singh, son of Kartar Singh of Housing colony, Udhampur, Darshan Singh, son of Dharam Singh, Ravi Kumar, son of Devi Charan of Garhi Udhampur and Anita Devi, wife of Ajay Singh of Garhi Udhampur.
