KISHTWAR, Oct 9: One person was killed and two others sustained injuries after a Safari car rolled down into deep gorge at Layee area of Padder here today.
As per police sources, a Safari car bearing registration number JK14D-1151 was on its way to Machail from Udhampur when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into deep gorge at Layee area of Padder, resulting into on the spot death of one person and injuries to two others.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals.

The injured persons were rushed to SDH Atholi from where they were later referred to District Hospital Kishtwar for specialised treatment.
The deceased was identified as Prikshit Kumar, son of Balkrishan of Lambi Gali district Udhampur, while the injured were identified as Pankaj Kumar, son of Krishan Lal and Rakesh Batla, son of Munshi Ram, both residents of district Udhampur.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Atholi and investigation started.
