RAMBAN, Dec 26: One person was held today with heroin like substance in Sangaldaan area.
“During the routine naka checking, a team of police post Sangaldaan signaled one pedestrian to stop but instead of stopping, the pedestrian tried to flee. However, acting swiftly the police party tactfully overpowered him and on checking recovered around 5 grams of heroin like substance from his possession, a police spokesperson said.
He said the accused identified as Parvinder Singh son of Sita Ram, resident of Sangaldaan (Ramban) was arrested on the spot after completing all legal formalities. “During preliminary questioning, the accused confessed that he was illegally transporting the contraband substance towards Sangaldaan for sale among gullible youth,” he said, adding, further forward and backward linkages are being worked out.
The spokesperson said that a case FIR No 102/2021 U/S 08/21 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at police station Gool and further investigation started.
The arrest was made by the police party led by Incharge police post Sangaldaan PSI Aakash Magotra under the close supervision of Inspector Muneer Ahmed (SHO police station Gool) and SDPO Gool Pardeep Kumar.
