One held with charas, poppy straw

JAMMU, Apr 5: Satwari police today arrested a drug peddler with 3 kg of charas and 10 kg of poppy straw.
According to a police spokesperson, a police team of police post Chatha led by SHO police station Satwari Inspector Nishant Gupta while on naka duty rounded up a suspect namely Vinod Kumar alias Raju son of Nath Ram, resident of Thakarie Kishtwar (at present Chatha Mill, Jammu) on a truck bearing registration number JKO2AS-8587.
He said on search, 3 kg of charas and 10 kg of poppy straw was recovered from illegal possession of Vinod Kumar. The accused was arrested and case FIR number 79/21 u/s 8/15/20 NDPS Act got registered in this connection at police station Satwari.
“The overall arrest and recovery was made by Inspector Rakesh Roshan (Incharge, police post Chatha) under the supervision of SDPO South P K Mengi,” the spokesperson said, adding, further investigation of the case is going on.
