One held with 28 bottles of illicit liquor

RAMBAN, June 16: Police here today arrested a liquor smuggler and recovered 28 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
Cops from Police Station Dharamkund during patrolling and traffic checking duty apprehended a vehicle of Bolero Camper make bearing registration number JK-19A-3510, driven by one Surjeet Singh, son of Goverdhan Singh, resident of Jandal Gandhri, Ramban.
From search of the vehicle 28 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered. These included 11 bottles of KDB JK Special Whiskey of 750 ml each, 14 bottle of DD JK Special Whiskey 750 ml each and three bottles of Oakland JK Whiskey 750 ml each.
A case in this regard has been registered in FIR No. 23/2023 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act at Police Station Dharamkund and investigation was entrusted to PSI Kanwaljit Singh.
The recovery was carried out by cops lead by Inspector Manoj Sharma, SHO Dharamkund under the supervision of Nihar Ranjan, SDPO Gool and under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
