POONCH, Jan 16: The police arrested one person from Poonch town and recovered 23 bottles of illicit liquor against from his possession.
A Police spokesman said that during routine naka checking in the town, a police party under the direct supervision of SHO Police Station Poonch, SD Singh and Deputy SP HQ. Nawaz Chouhan and under overall supervision of SSP Poonch, Rohit Baskotra intercepted an auto-rikshaw and on checking founded it carrying 23 bottles of liquor. The person was apprehended on the spot for having in his possession excessive quantity of liquor than the authorised limit.
Upon this Police registered a case FIR 09/2022 U/S 48 Excise Act and taken up investigation. The arrested person has been identified as Jaswinder Singh, son of Manohar Singh, resident of Dungas in Poonch. Auto used by the accused for transportation of liquor was also seized.
