One dies of COVID, 35 test +ve in Jammu

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Sept 25: An unknown person died of COVID-19 and 35 others tested positive for virus in the Jammu region while 108 new cases were reported in Kashmir and five in the Union Territory of Ladakh today.
A 45-year-old unknown person, who was found dead near Ware House Grid Station in Jammu, tested positive for COVID-19 today taking death toll in the Jammu region to 2173 and that of Jammu district to 1144.
Among 35 cases in the region, 11 were reported from Rajouri, eight Doda, seven Jammu, three each in Poonch and Reasi, two Kishtwar and one in Samba district while Udhampur, Kathua and Ramban districts didn’t report any new cases,
Thirty one persons today recovered from the virus leaving behind 256 active positive cases in the Jammu region.
All five COVID positive cases in the UT of Ladakh were reported from Leh district.
Ladakh now has 164 active positive cases—161 in Leh and three in Kargil district.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 108 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 52 from Srinagar, 17 from Baramulla, 14 from Budgam, 4 from Pulwama, 4 from Kupwara, 2 from Anantnag, 6 from Bandipora and 9 from Ganderbal.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 205,237 including 201,682 recoveries and 2,248 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,563 including 1,307 from Kashmir division.
With 184 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 322,897, which is 98.17 percent of the total cases.
