One dies of Corona in J&K, 94 test +ve

No new COVID case in Jammu region’s 9 distts

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Jan 23: One person died of COVID-19 while 94 tested positive and 88 others recovered from the virus in Jammu and Kashmir.
An 82-year-old man hailing from village Lakreshan in Vilgam area of Kupwara district died of multiple ailments and COVID-19 in Kashmir today, taking the Valley’s fatality county to 1210.
Nine districts in the Jammu region didn’t report any Corona positive case today. All 29 positive cases in the region were recorded in Jammu district,
Twenty three persons recovered from the virus in Jammu including 12 in Jammu district, nine Udhampur and two in Rajouri. Rest of the districts didn’t report any recoveries.
Jammu region now has 51390 Corona cases. Of them, only 403 are active positives as 50268 have recovered from the virus and there have been 719 casualties in the region.
The maximum 370 casualties have been reported in Jammu district followed by 64 in Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 51 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
In Kashmir, Srinagar district with 453 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 173, Budgam 117, Kupwara 95, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 84, Bandipora 61 and Kulgam 54.
Those who tested positive include 38 from Srinagar, three Baramulla, six Budgam, two Kupwara, eight Anantnag, four Ganderbal, one Kulgam and three from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 26,005 positive cases including 453 deaths and 25,283 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,081 including 173 deaths and 7,857 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,744 including 7,575 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Budgam, 5,690 including 5,541 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,640 including 95 deaths and 5,500 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,873 including 4,740 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,685 cases including 4,599 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,589 including 4,469 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,689 including 2,598 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,560 including 2,484 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 72,556 including 70,646 recoveries and 1,210 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,103 including 700 from Kashmir division.
With 88 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 120,946, which is 97.54 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, the UT of Ladakh today reported two new COVID positive cases, both of them in Leh district.
