One dies, another hurt in road mishaps; 2 receive burn injuries

UDHAMPUR, July 6: A motorcyclists died and a truck driver was critically injured in two separate road accidents while in another mishap, two persons sustained critical burn injuries when fire broke out in a house due to leakage of cooking gas.
According to the police reports, a motorcycle JK14B-2721 was hit by a Swift car bearing registration number JK02BH-5598 near village Sangoor Udhampur, resulting into critical injuries to the motorcyclist. He was rushed to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred him to SMVD Narayana Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased was identified as Rahil Kumar (20), son of Romesh Kumar of Ramkot, district Kathua.
In another road mishap, a truck bearing registration number JK19-3503, on its way from Jammu to Kashmir rolled down in Toldi Nallha after being hit by shooting stones. The injured driver, identified as Abdul Latif, son of Jmal Din of Banihal, was sifted to Udhampur District Hospital.
Meanwhile, 17-year old Ritik, son of Darshan Kumar of Sontha Udhampur and Mani Ram (58), son of Gulabu Ram, received series burn injuries when fire broke out in the house due to leakage of cooking gas cylinder. The family members rushed the victims to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred them to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of their critical condition.
