REASI/ UDHAMPUR, Jan 7: One person was killed in Van accident in Chenani area, 20 hurt as a mini-buses rolled down into gorge at Khu Nallah in Ramnagar while 18 passengers were injured when two mini-buses collided near Kala Morh on Reasi-Pouni road today.
Official sources said that a Maruti Van No. JK14B/5273 rolled down into a gorge when it was on way to Pattan Garh from Chenani today. The locals removed seriously injured, Darshan Kumar (32), son of Swarn Singh, hailing from Pattan Garh to Chenani hospital where doctors declared him as dead. The police after completion of legal formalities handed over the body to the family.
At least 20 persons were injured when a mini-bus No. JK14B/ 8908 which was on way to Sunetar (Ramnagar) from Udhampur rolled down the road near Khu Nallah this afternoon. The locals and police shifted the injured to district hospital Udhampur, where most of them were discharged after first- aid. Four injured were referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu. The police has taken cognizance.
Meanwhile, 18 passengers, including some Shiv Khori pilgrims were injured when two mini-busses ( JK02AB/9724 & JK14A/9807) collided at Kala Morh, on Reasi-Pouni-Shiv Khori Road today.
The locals of the area and police evacuated the accident victims to District Hospital, Reasi. Majority of them were discharged after first-aid by the medical staff. Two were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. Carelessness on the part of drivers was said to be the cause of accident on this wider road.
