One dies, 2 injured in group clash

POONCH, Apr 20: One person was killed while two others injured in a group clash over a land dispute at village Kenu in Mandi tehsil of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that over a piece of land, the bloody scuffle started at the village in Mandi tehsil between two real brothers and their family members. Both the sides exchanged lethal weapons and also pelted stone on each other.
During scuffle, one person sustained serious head injuries and fell down on the ground. Identified as Mohd Lateef (60), son of Fakroo Khan, resident of Kenu, he was rushed to Mandi hospital where he was declared as brought dead. His body was sent for post-mortem.
Two more persons were injured in the clash. They were identified as Zamrood Ahmed and Mohd Yasir, hailing from the same village. They were also admitted to Mandi hospital.
An old land dispute was said to be the reason behind the clash between the two brothers and their family members.
The police party led by SHO Mandi flung into action and arrested about half a dozen persons in this connection. An FIR has been registered in this connection. Further investigation was in progress.
