One death, 32 +ve cases in Jammu; 92 in Kashmir

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Oct 2: One person died of COVID-19 and 32 others tested positive in the Jammu region while 92 fresh cases were reported in the Kashmir valley and six in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
A 62-year-old person hailing from village Sandote in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district succumbed to COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri today taking Corona toll in the Jammu region to 2174 and Poonch district to 98.
Among 32 cases, 10 were reported from Doda, nine Jammu, six Reasi, four Poonch, two Rajouri and one in Ramban district while rest of the districts didn’t report any fresh cases.
Forty six persons today recovered from the virus leaving behind 293 active positive cases in the Jammu region.
All six fresh cases in Ladakh were reported from Leh district.
The UT of Ladakh now has 68 active positive cases—64 in Leh and four in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 92 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 52 from Srinagar, 9 from Baramulla, 9 from Budgam, 3 from Pulwama, 3 from Kupwara, 6 from Anantnag, 4 from Bandipora and 6 from Ganderbal.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 205,819 including 202,568 recoveries and 2,250 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,294 including 1,001 from Kashmir division.
With 168 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 323,969, which is 98.26 percent of the total cases.
