JAMMU, Nov 20: A 24-years old youth allegedly committed suicide late night yesterday while another youth made an abortive bid on his life by consuming some poisonous substances at their respective residences in Jammu and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, Ajay Kumar son of Charan Das allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at his home in Krishna Nagar area falling under the jurisdiction of police station, Bakshi Nagar. In unconscious condition, he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
A case in this regard has been registered in concerned police station and the body of the deceased handed over to family members for last rites after conducting post mortem.
In another case at Chatha area of city outskirts, one Ashwani Kumar (24) son of Bodh Raj, a resident of Govindpur in Chatha also consumed some poisonous substance at his residence. However, the family members timely shifted him to GMCH, where his condition is stated to be stable.
The concerned police has also taken cognizance of the matter.
