KATHUA, June 22: Excise Department booked one person under Sec 48 (a) of the J&K Excise Act, besides destroying 1000 kgs of lahan, one working still & 22 bottles of illicit liquor during different raids carried out against illicit liquor in Excise Range Kathua.
Under the direction of Excise Commissioner, Mohd. Javed Khan and the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise team Kathua led by E.T.O, Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta, Inspector Excise, Arun Kumar along with Excise staff raided the Upper Saktachak, Kangdyal, Jakhbhar Dambra & Sumwan areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
During the course of raids one person namely Sanju Ram S/o Jagdish Raj, caste Perney R/o Muthi Khurd, Kathua was booked under sec 48(a) of J&K Excise Act for possession of illicit liquor.
In the process more than 1000 kilograms of lahan, one working still & 22 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from state land and later destroyed by the team on spot.
