SRINAGAR:Taking a dig at ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti for maintaining silence over the flood package announced by the Centre for Jammu and Kashmir, working president of the National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah said will the Centre confirm Rs 10 lakh crore relief as promised by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Reacting to a tweet which reads Latest; Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to take Cross-LoC bus to Muzafferabad to protest against centre’s govt’s meagre financial package to J&K, Mr Abdullah tweeted this is a joke right?
His finance minister was on stage when the package was announced so what is Mufti protesting?
Mr Abdullah further said would someone in Govt of India care to confirm this 10 lakh crore package Mufti Syed has promised his members?
He was reacting to another tweet which said that Mufti to agitated PDP members: Believe in Drabu he is working on Rs 10 lakh crore package and Ram Madhav is on his side. Yesterday Tariq Hamid Karra, MP from Srinagar-Badgam constituency reacted sharply to Rs 5000 crore package, including the relief already provided, and said PDP should reconsider its association with the BJP in the State.
However, there was no statement from Ms Mufti on the relief, already rejected by traders, the NC, Congress and other political parties who said it was rubbing salt on the wounds of Kashmiris who suffered heavy damages in September last year’s devastating floods. (AGENCIES)
