SRINAGAR : Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah today took a dig at the BJP-PDP coalition in the state over delay in allocation of portfolios to the sworn ministers, saying they should “stop squabbling and start governing.”
“Dear @BJP4India & @jkpdp please stop squabbling & start governing. We waited 2 months for this Govt. Perhaps you can start with portfolios,” Omar wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The government was sworn-in on Sunday but the portfolios of the ministers have not been allocated yet.
The government has run into controversies with the comments of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who, immediately after being sworn-in, gave credit to militants and Pakistan for the smooth conduct of Assembly elections in the state.
His comments were followed by his party’s statement which termed Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru’s hanging as a “travesty of justice” and demanded return of his mortal remains.
Guru was hanged and buried inside Tihar Jail in Delhi on February 9, 2013. (AGENCIES)
