SRINAGAR, Aug 27: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah this morning send off the first batch of 274 Hajj-2014 pilgrims from Srinagar International Airport.
The Chief Minister while interacting with them wished them well-being, success and smooth performance of Manasik-i-Hajj. The pilgrims reciprocated the good wishes and showered him with prayers.
Minister for Hajj and Auqaf, Peerzada Mohammad Sayed, and Legislator and Member State Hajj Committee, Dr. Shehnaz Ganie was also present on the occasion.
As per this year’s Hajj schedule the flights will operate directly from Srinagar Airport to Madina Munawara. Today only one flight was scheduled while as from 28th August 2014 two flights each carrying 275 pilgrims will take off daily till 12th of September 2014. A total number of 7007 pilgrims are proceeding for Hajj this year through State Hajj Committee.
Arrangements of transport, boarding and lodging at Hajj House Srinagar, luggage checking, security, vaccination, hassle-free screening of baggage, refreshment, food, ablution, nimaz, immigration clearance, distribution of zum-zum, distribution of travel documents, issuance of boarding passes, etc. have been finalized and are in place.
Each male Hajji has been provided with a special jacket and female Hajji with a scarf with logo of State Hajj Committee for identification.
