SRINAGAR, Dec 14: National Conference working president and MLA Beerwah, Omar Abdullah today conducted a review of various developmental works in Beerwah constituency and also sanctioned an amount of four lakh rupees for upgradation and creation of vital power distribution infrastructure in Magam Market.
Talking to various party and public delegations from Beerwah who called on the NC working president at his office at ‘Nawa-e-Subha’ today, Omar Abdullah said the Power Development Department should take concrete measures to resolve pressing issues that are cause of great inconvenience to the people in view of the harsh weather.
Expressing gratitude to the NC working president for the allotment of additional funds to upgrade the transformers and vital distribution network in the market, the delegation from Magam Market said this would go a long way in resolving the local and recurring power crisis in the area.
Speaking to the delegations, Omar Abdullah said the Government was duty-bound to ensure a basic amount of power supply to the people and there should be a proper, clear power schedule in line with past practice. The NC working president said various Government departments should ensure the uninterrupted supply of essential supplies and commodities to the people in the winter months.
The meetings were also attended by political secretary to working president, Tanvir Sadiq, in addition to party functionaries and office bearers from Beerwah.
