Omar lauds President’s tolerance comment as ”that’s what we want to hear”

SRINAGAR :  Praising President Pranab Mukherjee’s speech which advocated tolerance and importance of protecting diversity in the country, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah asserted that the President has once again said ”what we want to hear.”
Mr Abdullah, working president National Conference (NC), also hoped that there were ”listeners to what the President said.”
Once again it’s President Mukherjee @RashtrapatiBhvn who has said what we want to hear. I hope there are listeners out there, Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.      For the second time in this month, the President talked about tolerance and the importance of protecting diversity in the country, which according to him have held together for ages this civilization of many languages, races, religions, with diverse anthropological features.
The comments by the President, at a felicitation function in Kolkata, come in the backdrop of increase in communal tension in the country. (UNI)
