Omar lambasts PDP for alliance after spitting ‘venom’ against BJP

JAMMU :  Breaking silence, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today lambasted the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party for having alliance with the BJP after spitting “venom” against it.
“I am surprised that pre-poll, you had all hate for the BJP and made so many statements against them in public but later joined hands with them for power,” Mr Abdullah said in his address during discussion on Governor’s address in the Assembly here.
“Where are those ‘anti-BJP’ statements what happened to them,” he questioned.
He said the PDP criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP leadership on every aspect but then hugged them for alliance and forgot its agendas.
“Why should anybody trust you for this step?” the National Conference working president said, adding, “Before polls, you criticized them, called them “communal force” but what happened in three months that you have to go ahead for alliance with the saffron party.”
Mr Abdullah condemned PDP for not clearing dust on AFSPA issue in the Common Minimum Programme.
“What sort of concessions you have been asked for that you left major issues from the CMP,” he said and added that they (PDP) should have carried forward where he had left on AFSPA revocation.
He also claimed that the BJP never wanted to Abrogate Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir but it was there compulsion and they played a card for the vote bank.
The former Chief Minister came down heavily on the government for immediate withdrawal of an official order on state flag issue alleging that it might have been done on a call from the Nagpur (RSS headquarters).
However on release of political prisoners, Mr Abdullah said, “PDP president Mehbooba Mufti when in opposition, used to say that 10,000 political prisoners are lodged in jails by my government. Now you are the ruling government. Where are those jailed political prisoners? Why don’t you release them?”    The NC stalwart also blamed PDP for not doing justice in allotting ministries to the BJP members besides criticising  them for completely destroying the institution of the Chief Minister.
He, however, condemned the PDP for having all their praise  in the Governor’s address.
