JAMMU, Jan 23: An old man today died due to alleged fall from stairs of a temple in Gandhi Nagar area of city outskirts.
“A mason belonging to Bihar, who was identified as Mustafa (60) son of Abdul Gufar, presently resident of Bari Brahamana, sustained serious injuries after he allegedly fell down from the stairs of Panch Mandir in Gandhi Nagar area”, a police official said.
He said in unconscious condition the man was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, he said, adding, in this connection, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated at police station Gandhi Nagar.
