Ogra gets ‘Media & Communication Education’ award

NEW DELHI, Oct 24: Noted media professional and educator, Ashok Ogra, has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Lifetime Contribution to Media & Communication Education’ award by the Global Media Education Council for the year 2021.
The Council comprises top media practitioners and educators from across the world. The Council in its announcement has acknowledged the stellar contribution of Ashok Ogra to Media Industry and now education over the last forty years.
Presently, Ogra works for reputed- Apeejay Education Society, as Advisor (MC).
Ogra started his career with The Tribune in 1977, worked in Doordarshan and becoming Station Director at a fairly young age of 35. However, he resigned from DD to join the start up team of Discovery Channel, where he worked as Vice President in-charge of the entire South Asia region. He has also taught at the reputed Film & TV Institute, Pune.
He is a regular contributor to the `Daily Excelsior’ for the last over 15 years.
