JAMMU, Dec 3: The months of December to March being peak period for incurring of expenditure, the Finance Department has issued directives to all heads of departments / officers not to sanction leave of officers or officials except the case pertaining to maternity leave or the cases involving urgent medical exigency.
A circular to this effect was issued by Director General Accounts & Treasuries Mahesh Dass here, today.
It read that in past it has been observed that most of the officers /officials of Accounts Wing in various departments proceed on leave and that too during the period from the month of December to March the peak period for incurring of expenditure.
Taking serious note of the same the Finance Department has termed it as deliberate escapism from duties which has been viewed seriously by the authorities concerned.
