JAMMU, Oct 21: North Zone Insurance Employees Association (NZIEA) is organizing 31st General Conference of Northern Zone here from October 23 to 25.
Addressing a press conference here today, general secretary of the NZIEA, A K Bhatnagar said that this three day conference of the insurance employees from the seven northern States is going to be held at Abhinav Theatre, on Canal Road Jammu and about 500 delegates from these States including Delhi, Rajasthan and Haryana will attend this important convention.
Mr Bhatnagar disclosed that this Diamond Jubilee year conference is being held at such a time when Dalits, minorities, women, workers, students and farmers are the targets at the hands of Central Government. Communal forces are attacking democratic forces and common man is feeling unsafe. At the same time, it is a matter of satisfaction that workers of the country are also continuously fighting against the Government policies which are anti- people, anti -workers, anti- farmers, anti-dalits , anti- minorities and anti -toiling masses. Detail discussion will be held to take decision to fight these anti- people policies of the Union Government.
He pointed out that the FDI, Labour laws, contractual system, privatization of public sector undertaking and other issues which are harmful for the welfare of the people will be discussed in the conference.
The trade unionist further declared that on October 23, 2016 a rally will be organized by the NZIEA at 9:30 am from Abhinav Theatre, Jammu that will pass through Jewel Chowk, Gummat, Swami Vivekanand Chowk, Dogra Chowk and shall culminate at Abhinav Theatre.
The Diamond Jubilee year conference will be inaugurated by MY Tarigami, State president CITU and MLA CPI(M), Kulgam constituency on October 23. Amanulla Khan, president, V Ramesh general secretary, B Sanyal Jt Secretary, BS Ravi treasurer of All India Insurance Employees’ Association, and A K Bhatnagar, general secretary, NZIEA, S P Kesar (CITU) who is chairman reception committee, will address the participants in the conference. R C Sharma, president NZIEA will preside the conference.
