JAMMU, Aug 16: A BSc nursing student made an attempt to end her life by jumping into Tawi River here today.
Fortunately, some people witnessing her act acted promptly and rescued her out of the swollen river.
A police official said the student, who was upset over some personal matters, jumped from near Shiv Mandir area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gandhi Nagar.
Some people witnessing her act also jumped into the river immediately and rescued her from a distance of around 20 metres down the river, he said.
Later, the student was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where she’s receiving the treatment, he said.
