Nursing profession noble service towards ailing humanity: Taj

Minister for Sports Taj Mohi-ud-Din distributing prizes among students at Jammu on Thursday.

JAMMU, May 16: Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, first of its kind institution to start B.Sc Nursing course in Jammu province, celebrated Nurses Day here today.
Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, was the chief guest while MLC Jugal Kishore was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that nurses’ profession is a noble service towards ailing humanity and their job is an opportunity for them to nurse the needy. He expressed hope that this fraternity would continue its services with the same zest and zeal.
Principal of the college, Jhonny Kutty, presented annual report highlighting college performance for the last few years.
Chairman of the college, M.S. Katoch highlighted the achievements of the college. He said that the College is also promoting extending education to wards of weaker sections of the society by relaxing fee for them.
He informed that college has also started free computer course for the students of the adjoining villages of Chak Bhakwal, Seri Pandita and at present 25 students are availing this free course.
Later, the Minister distributed prizes among the meritorious students.
