JAMMU, Nov 7: National Students Union of India has appealed the Jammu University to increase the M Ed seats in the Directorate of Distance Education to accommodate the meritorious and poor students of Jammu region.
Addressing a press conference, the NSUI district coordinator Avijot Singh highlighted the grievance of M Ed aspirants who could not seek admission in DDE on account of decrease of 100 vacancies in current session.
“We had also approached the Vice Chancellor in this regard who promised to consult the Director DDE but nothing was decided pertaining to the issue,” he lamented.
The NSUI leader also pointed that the Kashmir University has 1500 seats of M Ed in DDE whereas the JU has only 500. He also threatened to launch a protest if the demand is not conceded by the university.
Others present in the press conference, included Puneet Singh, Ranjot Singh Nishant Gupta, Suny Parihar, Tanam, Zia Khan, Israr ul Haq, Gurveer Singh, and Sahil.
