JAMMU, May 7: NSUI State President Ajay Lakhotra has demanded complete nullification of the Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET-2026) for the academic session 2026-27.
Addressing a press conference, here today, Lakhotra alleged mismanagement in conduct of the JUET -2026 reflecting complete failure of the University administration, particularly the office of Dean Academic Affairs.
“Students were provided photocopied question papers on which series had been written by hand. This raises serious doubts over the fairness and transparency of the entire examination process,” he asserted.
The NSUI leader pointed out that the University of Jammu continues to conduct two separate entrance mechanisms even as the J&K administration has scrapped CUET for UG admissions in Government colleges for 2026-27, shifting to Class 12th merit-based selection. This dual system puts an unnecessary burden on students, he added.
JUET-2026 was conducted on April 25, 2026 (10:30 AM to 1:00 PM), with 3,861 candidates registered and 3,148 appearing across multiple centres.
Lakhotra also questioned the Vice Chancellor’s prolonged silence on the recent CAG Report (Report 3 of 2025), which flagged several academic, administrative, and regulatory lapses at the University of Jammu, including irregularities in appointments and inefficiencies in human resource management.
NSUI, Jammu University President Aryan strongly, who was also present in the press conference, demanded immediate stay on the JUET 2026-27 admission process based on the disputed test.
He also demanded constitution of a high-level Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by a retired or sitting judge of the High Court to probe the irregularities and immediate removal of Prof J P Singh Joorel from the post of Dean Academic Affairs for administrative failure and lapses.
Ajay Lakhotra warned that if the university fails to address these student concerns, NSUI will launch a massive agitation across the Jammu region. “Education must be based on merit and transparency, not on photocopied papers and handwritten series,” he added.
The NSUI urged the Lieutenant Governor, the Vice Chancellor, and all concerned authorities to immediately intervene and protect the future of thousands of aspirants by ensuring a fair and credible admission process.
Others present in the press conference, included Jaisidh Bhalla, Sheel Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Parveen Bhagat, Sanket Bhagat and several other NSUI leaders.
