JAMMU, Aug 19: National Students Union of India (NSUI) condemned the decision of abolishing engineers’ self help groups and their work quote of 30 per cent.
In a statement, Vikas Badhoria, NSUI UT General Secretary condemned this decision. He said the Government of union territory of Jammu and Kashmir behave like a stepmother to the youth of J&K and despite providing jobs to unemployed youth, Government is taking away their jobs.
“More than 15000 engineers may lose their jobs due to this decision and these self-help groups are the only source of bread and butter for young unemployed engineers and they are serving the nation under this scheme prosperously since 2004 in various departments like R&B, PMGSY, PHE, PDD, etc”, he added.
He appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha to take back this decision and provide more opportunity to youth.
